My friend has an FN High Power, that reads Fabrique Nationale D'armes, de Guerra Herstal Belgique. Serial number 51641. Anyone have any interesting info about this gun?

Fabrique Nationale D'armes, de Guerra Herstal Belgique

It either says "de Guerre" or it is a counterfeit by someone who cannot spell.

armes de guerre means weapons [litterally: arms of war] in French, one of the languages of Belgium. The whole translation is:

National Factory of [war] weapons, Herstal [town name], Belgium.

And the "High Power" is a translation of "Grande Pouisance", which, in French, means high [or, great] power.

FN is short for Fabrique National.

above may or may not be interesting, but I typed it anyway . . .

Sounds like an early Belgian military HP, but I'm not an expert on that series of HPs. A pic and a bit more info would be helpful. If it does have markings exactly as you describe, it would be very interesting, as I have never heard of any legit FN HPs with Spanish markings, or any fakes out of Spain.

Looks like mine! Only a little newer perhaps, maybe 50's production?

Here's my P-35, its a good shooter and other than the safety switch being swapped out for an extended one by its previous owner its original with Nazi proof marks. I paid $400 for mine a few months ago from a local shop and it was certainly a good buy. Your friends looks to be in very good condition and if all the numbers match it could be worth a decent amount. However I'm sure your friend loves it and he should, they are great old guns and timeless works of art.

Sorry I can't tell you anything very interesting about the gun but there's no shortage of information out there on the internet and there should be more than a couple threads about the P-35 here on THR.

That is an early commercial model Hi Power. Note: the internal extractor.
Fine gun. The highpowersandhandguns site referenced above is a great site for Hi Power information.

Ring hammer and internal extractor make it an older model.

Should still be a good shooter, the only possible consideration I'm aware of with them is that I'm told if the internal extractor breaks you'd be hard pressed to find a new one. (I've got a pre-FM Argentinean FN P-35 and was told that by the folks at Cylinder and Slide or Yost-Bonitz, can't remember which, when I was considering having some work done on it, so I'm inclined to think that's good info.)
