I've been trying to put together a list of semi-auto pistols or pistol variants that are "true DAO."

Note: By "true DAO" (my term) I mean a pistol whose trigger serves on every shot to fully cock and then release the pistol's striker/hammer. Thus, I'm distinguishing pistols utilizing some form of pre-tensioned, pre-cocked, pre-set striker or hammer e.g. Glock, XD, Kahr, HK LEM, LDA, P99, Steyr, etc...).

The list so far:

Beretta D variants (92, 96 and 8000 series)
Sig Pro (with DAO lockwork option)
Sig P226 DAK & 229 DAK
Kel-Tecs
Ruger DAO variants
Taurus Millenium and Millenium Pro series
Cobra Patriot
CZ100
HK USP Vers. 7 DAO variants
AMT Backup
FN 49
Taurus 25/7 (?)
Steyr GB
HK VP70

I'm sure there are others that I am forgetting.

Please add to the list with any I've forgotten. Thanks.

Um, guys, his post excludes pre-cock and partial cock pistols. Hence, the Glock and Kahr are out. I believe the Para LDA is similar.

The HK P2000/LEM is pre-cock, but if I understand correctly it has full trigger cocking (double strike capability), but with a heavy pull if not pre-cocked. Is the Smith/Walther P99 the same?

Taurus PT22

I've read (but do not know for a fact) that Ruger DAO pistols are actually precocked.

Yea... I'm not an expert on guns, but I thought since I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I thought I might know what I'm talking about? But I guess not. :D

Para LDA

is a true DAO. Just like a Revolver except the reigger lockwork doesn't also have to turn a cylinder.

So if you pick an empty LDA up and pull the trigger, then pull the trigger again, the hammer will fall twice? I could have sworn in was one of those pre-cock type actions.

Sorry to thread hi-jack, but I just can't figure out the Holiday Inn joke. Can someone please fill me Inn?

Travis...

The Holiday Inn Express joke is in reference to their TV commercials where, after staying there, the person exhibits expert knowledge in one thing or another. There are a bunch of different versions.....wow, do I need to get out more!
