Ok not exactly new to reloading and tried doing the leg work but can not seem to find what I am working with. Need a little help please.
New starline cases
unique powder
x-treeme 200gn rn plated bullets from TJs
From the three manuals I have it looks to me (going off lead bullets) starting at 5gn to 7.5 gn but I cant seem to find any OAL length for a 200 gn rn bullet mostly just information for wc or my books jump to 230gn bullets.
Any help wil be much appreciated.
Thanks
Josh

Thats what I was seeing in my reloading manuals it just seems and looks rather short once loaded up, like the shoulders of the bullet are gone at the crimp and it is crimping after the side walls. Just dont want to over pressure by a over crimp.
Thanks

Load it up at around 1.250 and see if it will fit in your gun, If not, You need to seat it a bit deeper. You will notice a small hit from the rifling on the bullet if it is to long. Once you set it and no longer hits the rifling, You should be good to go.

What may be easier is to do a "Plunk Test" and go from there if you think it is to short.

I just tried that bullet. I loaded it to fall between 1.260 and 1.265 OAL. It shot very well for me.

5.5 should be good to start, but I would stop at 6.5ish. I would definitely not go to 7.5 Grs.

Thanks all It looks correct at 1.20-1.25 Think i will try out them both see what the guns like. Thanks for the help I wasnt sure if it was ok backing it out that far at the lower loadings I fired some at 7.1 grns at 1.190 and didnt see anything off in the cases, bulging and such.
Thanks again Guess I just needed the word that it was ok to come out to 1.25 even to its saying shorter.
Will shoot into some jugs and check the bullets for rifling.
I need a crono in a bad way I think to know whats going on rather then going off felt recoil.

I lesson for me was to also make sure they would stack in the magazine. Did a batch of .40s that would go in the chamber just fine. I had to shorten them all by about 10/1000s or they would jam n the mag when they got deep enough to go side by by side.

I seat my 230gr XTreme RN to 1.260. They function great in my SA 1911. I would try 1.250 - 1.255, and make sure they chamber, and work fine in your mags.
