Here are my ingredients....need a 300 wm elk load recommendation.

I have a Browning A bolt white gold medallion in .300 win mag (26"bbl). I've come up with a great deer/antelope load pushing a 150 grain accubond at ~3250 behind winchester brass and 83.8 H1000 (absolutely devastating between 125-434 yards...verified).

I'm looking for a dual purpose elk/deer load using ingredients I have, which include:
Remington and Winchester brass.

Sierra 165 gameking, Sierra 180 gameking, Nosler Ballistic Tip 150, 165 and 180 and Speer Hot Cor 180.

Primers I have are Federal Magnums and Winchester Magnums.

Powders I have are H1000, H4831, IMR7828SC, IMR4831, IMR4350 and RL22.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have used Sierrra 180 and 200's on many Big Elk ,they have worked well , flat and hard hitting,
also have used the Nosler ballistic tip a few times, with much the same results,

both products produce exceptional accuracy
as with any bullet, shot placement is key

150 Accubond would be a decent choice in my opinion, being that it's bonded.

Other than that, I would start a new load with the 180 Nosler Ballistic Tip.

From the listed choices, I would use the 180 Speer, with Federal mag primers and RL22. Given my preferences, I would change only the bullet, to a 180 Partition, TSX, TTSX or etc.

I basically agree with 45crittergetter. However, I'll add that if you're working up the load in anything warmer than freezing temps I'd stick with the H powders as they're more stable.

This is only my personal preferance, but for an elk load, I prefer heavier bullets, 180 to 200 grain. I would go for a Partition, or Accubond, or TSX. If your shot comes in the timber, it's going to be close. I hunt the thick timber around an old burn with several water holes. Furthest shot will probably be 100 yards. I like the 200 grain accubond, because my rifle shoots them very well, and I feel comfortable that it will stay together, and penetrate even on close shots.
