Nothing wrong with wanting and/or having nice stuff. This is after all a hobby and we should enjoy our hobbies. Speaking for myself, part of enjoying this endeavor is having good quality tools.

When I was a kid we didn't have much money to spend. I started mowing neighbors lawns and delivering newspapers at a young age. When I started driving a car I first purchased an Asian (Japanese back then) tool kit from Kmart. Within 6 months half of the set was broken so I started over with Craftsman tools. 40 years later I still have those Craftsman tools, every single one, they are used hard.

Agreed. I thought that was a really nice funnel set. I also put the RCBS Automatic Bench Primer on backorder this weekend. That is going to be the next thing in my continuing saga to find the best priming tool for me.

My experience with Lyman has been consistently unsatisfactory. I sometimes think if they were the only manufacturer of reloading equipment left in the world, I would just start buying factory ammunition in bulk.

My experience with Lyman is pretty limited, so I can't really argue that point. In fact, the Universal Case Trimming lathe is the only Lyman bench tool I have right now. It works well and appears to be a quality tool. I have never tried their dies, nor have I used one of their presses.

lyman like all the rest has some winners and some losers on their catalogue of merchandise. that funnel set looks tempting. good thing it is out of stock or i probably would have added it to the cart already.

I wish I had a nickel for every tool I didn't really need. I have a set of stainless steel wrenches that Craftsman made back in the mid 70's. They are beautiful, but they are just wrenches. I couldn't turn them down.

Keep us posted on how well Lyman Brass Smith Pro Powder Funnel works. I know I won't be getting them because of the comment in their description: " for serious reloaders". That counts me out.

Lyman has been around for a long time. True some losers in the line but some winners also. Anyway, I have been thinking about getting some additional funnels. In the back of my mind there is this voice that sez "it's only a funnel why not get the least expensive one you can get?" When you read the reviews on various funnels and after you get over the issue of why would someone review a funnel, you realize that you currently live with things like a poor case mouth fit and static cling. So that means rubbing dryer sheets on the plastic and having several different sized funnels if you handload several different calibers. So several different funnels costs, when it's all said and done, half of what a really nice funnel costs but still at the expensive side we are only talking about $25.00

If you want a little more "Bling", check out the Area 419 Master Funnel Kit...... It's 4x more expensive than the Lyman, but....

I agree with HD. I emailed Lyman two months ago with a question. Crickets since then. Will not consider their products as a result.

I have several Lyman dies that are every bit as good as any other ones I have.

I almost bought the Gen6 powder dispenser, but went with the RCBS Chargemaster Lite instead. No regrets on the Chargemaster, it's great. The Gen6 would probably have been the same, but I saw a youtube vid where the guy had to disassemble it to clean it when changing powders and I didn't want to go there. I was also close to buying their case prep center and I still think it is a really good unit. Again, I went with RCBS because the Trim Mate is smaller and I have limited space.
