Herters, ah yes, a blast from the past. I'd love to have one in a traditional caliber just for fun. The owner over at the Single Action forum shoots them and seems quite knowledgable in case he does not visit here. http://single-actions.phpbb3now.com/index.php?sid=bf4a56f59884a2994562a5c0ec55b4bb

The various Herters revolvers were made by either Hawes, or Sauer & Son, both west German manufactures.
Parts are very hard to come by anymore.
As for what I think?
Possibly a few of them were well made.
But I haven't seen one yet.
My shooting buddy collects Herters stuff and he has three SA's and one DA.
I have had to make various parts for three of them to keep them working.
His .44 Mag sheared off the ejector rod screw & stud after about half a box of ammo.
The .41 Power-Mag had the cylinder pin lock drilled in the wrong place in the frame and the pin wouldn't stay put.
The .357 Double-Action Guides Model Perfect didn't have a forcing cone cut in the barrel and spit lead like a hand grenade.
It also needed a 1/8" spacer ring on the cylinder to take out the end-shake. When it was opened, you couldn't close the cylinder again without pulling it back into place with the other hand. Otherwise it would hit the barrel extension and lock up right there.
Overall, I haven't been real impressed with them, although they will shoot pretty good when they ain't broke.
