High cap mag ban senario question

So what do you think of this? Say we did have a high capacity mag ban for mags over 10 rounds. I own a Beowulf whach can use 30 round .223 mags but they will only hold 10 rounds of Beowulf ammo. So if I engraved .50 Beowulf on all of them then technically they would only be 10 round mags right? Just something I have been pondering.

I guess you're TECHNICALLY correct, but that scenario is kind of a grey area that I doubt the ban would address.

I wouldn't go out of my way to be a test case for it.

I thought about this myself, only with .458 SOCOM. In an case, if you swapped the followers, and had a rifle chambered for that round, you might be a me to convincingly argue it is not a 30 round .223 magazine.

Not something I would like to be the test case to try and prove.

Most gun folks know about the bastardized cartridges that will fit a standard 30rnd mag and it will buy us nothing until a ban comes our way. What if it's a 9rnd ban, a ten round ban didn't work last time so why not nine now?

I personally think there is enough protest going on now that a new assault weapons ban will not make it through but it never hurts to have a plan "B"!
