ONMILO have you used the Texas built magazines? or have you just read about them?

I have sold them to guys needing magazines.
Quality has improved greatly over the years but I am not going to tell you the magazine will drop in and work without some tweeking, then again it might.
I have had to do the same tweeking with original production High Standard magazines too.
I made this suggestion because original magazines are getting harder and harder to find and the guys who have them put a premium price on the when they make them available for sale.
The Mitchell magazines are certainly no worse than an overpriced, original, used magazine.

I just tried to bring it up to check prices, but they seem to be down right now. I'm sure it's my really slow connection to the internet. My curse for living in a small town with only two internet providers.
Anyway, check 'em out. I've ordered from them over the phone and they did a good job repairing my Victor a few years ago.
They have instructions on the website on how to tweak a magazine if it's having feeding problems.

All I can tell you is that I got a real smarta** reply when I sent an e-mail to them. I said that I had a 70's vintage Supertamatic Tournament Military and was paranoid about losing my original magazine. Alan Rothstein with Hi Standard replied that if you keep the magazine in the pistol like you are supposed to, that you shouldn't have a problem.
I replied that I did keep the mag in the pistol where it was was supposed to be, but I didn't appreciate the snide remark. I don't want to lose the original mag.

My next .22 LR pistol will be Sig Trailslide or a Walther.

Life with A nice .22 pistol should not be so difficult, Its only A sheet metal part.
Its less of A problem then building A AK 47 clone.

I owned a couple of High Standards over the years, a Duramatic and an HD Military.
The Duramatic was finicky and at that time the only magazines available were factory.
The most reliable High Standard auto pistol I owned was the HD Military.
I had three magazines for this pistol and it fed flawlessly with anything I cared to stuff into it.
If you are getting stuffy replies from High Standard direct I recommend ordering through Brownells.
The attitude of the workers is much more pleasant and they company offers a no questions asked replacement/refund policy.
