I knew there was reason why I tell my friends that hospitals are hazardous to their health.

One of the guys I worked with last year before he left for the sand box had appendicitis. 3-4 days after they removed it, he was back in the hospital with a bad infection for about a week and wound up having to carry around drainage bag at the surgical site for 2 weeks. One other was misdiagnosed which ended with a heart-attack. :banghead:

Isn't 80 million the number of gun OWNERS with the number of Guns being closer to 200 million?

The number of firearms is 90 per 100 persons, ie. 270 million.

The number of armed ten years ago was nigh 100 million, so we are either losing ranks or the estimates are getting sloppy....

Not sure about the accdiental death from malpractice/etc., but the gun stat was accurate for when that comparison first came out, its dropped to around 700 something now though.

I'd double-check the medical one though, looks inflated to me.

It seems that the numbers are a little low for the doctors! A quick google search turned up these numbers:

# of Doctors = 812,770 source

# of Medical Accidents = 195,000 source

That would equate to:
Doctors = 0.239

Guns = 0.000188

Looks like we need some Doctor control legislation!
