Hogue stocks - slimmer forend?

Just received my Hogue pillar-bedded stock in the mail yesterday. Fit and finish are great, although it's quite heavy compared to my wood stock. The barrel channel is pretty wide, as is the forend.

Does anyone know if Hogue makes their overmolded rubber stock with a slimmer or shorter forend for a lightweight or carbine barrel?

I like the stock and the rubber feel. It's very comfortable. Just longer and larger than I need on the forend.

This is going on a Ruger Hawkeye Mk II long action.

There are very, very few options for aftermarket MK-II stocks. I assume your rifle is blue and you're looking for a synthetic stock. Realistically the best option is to buy one of the factory All Weather stocks directly from Ruger. I know they have gone up, but Ruger shipped me one a few years ago for $85.

Unless you are willing to spend $500-$700 for a McMillan, MPI, Brown Precision or one of the other high end stocks the factory synthetic stock is the best bet. They are actually one of, if not the best of the factory synthetics. Way better than the Hogue.

If Ruger no longer carries them they do pop up on E-Bay, Gun Broker or in the classifieds in gun forums such as THR fairly often.

Actually, it's stainless and it looks really nice against that black rubberized Hogue stock, which is why I ask. I love the look and feel of the Hogue on that stainless 77 action, but the barrel channel and forend width are just all wrong.
