It's called a boot pistol because you are supposed to stick it in your boot.
Yeah, but it's not too comfortable that way for me, I usually wear shoes in the summer and with my winter boots they'd be a bit tight for that. Maybe I could slip it into my hip boots while trapping. lol
Okay, I rummaged through a box of old holsters my father has, after mentioning I'm after a holster for this gun. There were some oddball custom and semi-custom holsters in there that he's accumulated (without my knowing it until now) that he doesn't use/have a use for. I found a leather holster he had, intended for a semi-auto pistol but with a nice big tubular shape to it where the barrel would go and an open end, it fits, sort of. The front site catches when I draw it from the holster (but the gun slides in nicely) so I'm going to do a little modifying to the holster to fix that. It holds the gun nice and tight while wearing it. I also found a nice leather crossdraw holster that fits my Nagant revolver real nicely, so I guess I killed two birds with one stone, even though I was only after one bird. lol
I was kind of surprised they never made holsters for these pistols (recently that is), or maybe they did and they just aren't around much. The pistols seemed to of sold well when they were being made.
I bet you could find one on gunbroker or some site like it, unspellable, but stumbling on one at a yard sale might be a cheaper way to go.
I wasn't even looking for guns when I came across it, the yard sale ad never mentioned they had guns for sale, I was after some tools. I've got an expensive cross-country (VT to AK) move coming up in the future so I haven't been buying guns like I'd like to lately, but for $25 I couldn't pass it up...
Bigbadgun, thanks for offering the help, I'll keep that in mind if I do need a custom holster sometime in the future, it's definately possible since I collect some oddball stuff...
