Hi there all,

I recently bought a Springfield Champion and have been perusing some sites looking for a cross draw belt holster without the retaining strap for concealed carry.

Can I use my Galco Avenger for crossdraw? It is designed for a 1911 with a 5" tube, but finding a full production holster for a 4" tube is becoming difficult.
Most of the holsters I find are for a 5" barrel or a 3" barrel or the Yaqui Slide type holster.

Any ideas? I don't know if I can find a custom holster at a reasonable cost.

There is nothing wrong with using your 5 inch holster as long as you do not mind the extra leather. Myself I use a commander holster, which is 4.25 inch and I figure close enough. (Did not even realize my Champion was a little shoter than the Comander for quite a while).

It seems to me that I have problems finding a true commander holster these days, everyone seems to sell the 4 inch holsters, but that might just be me.

Checking some of the holster makers, several, like Galco and Gould and Goodrich make holsters specifically for the Champion. I am guessing you are having problems finding one at a retail vendor? You might also want to try looking for them under Kimber 4 inch holsters, as that might be a more popular name to look under, especially by the retailers.
