I was just looking at the Browning website, where I noticed a raise in suggested prices.

I remember the MSRP for the plain ol' MkIII being $708, and I'm pretty certain that I'm remembering correctly. Now look, if you can :uhoh: : http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?value=007B&cat_id=051&type_id=001

[Scroll to the bottom of link page for MSRP.]

Yeah, that's right, $781. Standards are $804, and Practicals are $846 (all for fixed sight models). That's a bit pricey.

Join me now: :what:

SO, WHAT GIVES?!?

Wes :scrutiny:

I looked at a bunch of them today in several stores, most were about $600 (give or take) does this mean they will go up to $700 or so?

Ratfink, I'd imagine that it will be a while before the individual retailers feel the weight of the price increase, but if the trend continues, then yes, the price will eventually go up.

Browning just had a price increase due to the Euro

Thanks, Wild. It's nice to at least know the reason.

Don't get me wrong, they're top-notch pistols, and they're still worth the price, but geez -- if that price is truly reflected by retailers, then there'll probably be a lot of people lookin' for a Charles Daly. :barf:

Of course, the quality difference is quite evident, but...

Wes

Last week I saw an FN Hi-Power with the new rollmark selling for $649. Before, $600 was considered high around here. sigh...

OK, Maybe I should see if Legendary guns will let me swap the money I used to put an FEG on lay-away to lay-away a real HP instead, they had some for $550-$600.
