My family has several remington pump carbines in 30 06. We have always used Hornady factory ammo with no problems, recently we have had several stick in the chamber. Both guns are regularly cleaned and only fired to sight in and hunt deer. One is a 760, the other a 7600. Anyone else encounter this problem?

I should note that I contacted Hornady and sent them back, but was told to expect somewhat of a wait.

Try and chamber the rest of your cartridges. If there is one that sticks or feels really tough to chamber, color it completely with a black magic marker and look to see where the ink rubs off. That will tell you where the cartridge is hanging up. It may be the shoulder (headspace), the base, or the bullet (lands/throat). You can then measure the dimensions with a caliper to see whether it is the cartridge or the rifle that is out of spec.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try!
