The New York Times carried the misleading headline House Passes Bill to Protect Gun Industry from Lawsuits with an equally misleading lead sentence that Congress "voted to shield firearms manufacturers and dealers from liability lawsuits." Finally in the fourth paragraph The Times reports that "the bill, which is identical to one approved in July by the Senate, is aimed at ending a spate of lawsuits by individuals, states and municipalities seeking to hold gun manufacturers and dealers liable for crimes committed with weapons they sold." Thank you!

Interesting sidenote: 59 Democrats joined 223 Republicans and the House's sole independent, Bernard Sanders of Vermont, to pass the bill. Remember that Sanders is an out and out socialist, and yet he still managed to vote with the good guys on this important piece of legislation.

Kinda wierd, but God bless him.
