How about a Charter Arms in 44 Mag/Special

Anyone know why Charter Arms doesn't make a 44 Magnum revolver? I believe that if they did & priced it right they would sell very well.

Just my opinion ...

I have two of the newer Bulldogs (2014) and these pistols, for a steady diet, are pretty-much at their max with moderate .44spc loads.

IMO, Charter Arms would have to seriously re-engineer the critter for it to be able to handle .44mag loads.

I realize that their current product line can't handle 44 Magnum pressures. What I had in mind is a new model. Other manufacturers are constantly upgrading & innoating, why can't Charter Arms do the same & compete with Ruger, Taurus & others?

I guess that all depends on what Charter Arms sees as their "market". It seems that small, highly concealable revolvers is their focus and they might not think there's any reason to produce a .44mag.

5 shot 44 spl and 45 Colt/ACP revolvers are already at the upper end size wise for carrying, which is Charter's main market. A bigger 44 mag might not be worth the trouble for them to make

Their new XL frame and cylinder for the .45 Colt and 45ACP might be about the right dimensions but at 22oz, they would be more than a handful with full throttle 44Mag rounds. I don't think anyone would shoot it more than a couple times...

They are innovating, putting out a new 7 shot .32Mag soon, the Professional, 3in barrel. Many won't like it but I'm excited. I think they are better off to keep costs down and do what fits in their current platform. Beta testing an entirely new line is $$$. The .44 mag market is pretty well stocked now in my mind and I would be hard pressed to buy a Charter over a Ruger or Smith in .44mag.

They make a 41 Mag right now.

The 44 Magnum is actually .429 caliber where as the 41 is a true .41caliber.
