Perhaps they already exist, but I haven't seen them. What would you think of an aluminum grip (kind of like the aluma grips for 1911s) for a revolver? They could be anozided in many colors and might nicely match the newer dull finished revolvers.

Same question for micarta.

It might be a bit untraditional, but so are night sights, lasers, etc.

Alum is a heat conductor so it tends to conduct the lack of heat too. If its under 50 degress out side it will feel like hanging on to dry ice, over 90 it will be like hot coals almost.

Yes, it is a heat conductor, poplular with some on autos.

Revolver grips have been made from Micarta for years.
I have a set of "linen micarta" (look vaguely like Ivory) on a hard recoiling Ruger "Bisley".
They are virtually indestructible.

I have a set of Micarta grips on a Model 1911 that I truly enjoy. Look at Collins Grips found at Inventor's Colony.com for some nice looking Micarta REvo grips.

With all of the fancy CNC machined micarta and G10 grips being made for pistols, it amazes me that someone hasn't taken that idea and applied it to revolvers. I have asked a person who makes them to attempt a set, but we will have to wait until after the S.H.O.T. show for him to get some time.

This guy does it in Micarta.

Everyones using Dymondwood, which is basically epoxy impregnated plywood, very much the same thing as Micarta, only some think, more prettier.

You could't give me a set of aluminum grips for anything, if you chased me down and beat me with them.

Does way too COLD, or way too HOT, depending on the weather, sound good to you?

I've always thought that a set of revolver grips made from canvas Micarta would be great.

Canvas Micarta has a rougher natural texture, and has long been used for knife handles because of the enhanced grip over wood or linen Micarta.

Don Collins uses paper micarta as a sort of manmade ivory, which is okay. They are pretty and durable.

I am more interested in something from a canvas micarta, which has much more intrinsic texture than the paper variety. More of a field grade material than the paper.

Something to match my Krein Mini-8 shown here would be awesome:

Aluminum?

I'd probably stay away from that. I really couldn't think of any advantages it might have.
Micarta is a very stable product and has been used in the knife making industry for years. Yes, there is a variety that is said to mimic ivory pretty well. It won't need to be coddled like the real stuff though.

Hmmmh, I like the idea of aluminium grips. I would get my own aluminium back, those grips all started as my beer cans:)

Yes, I do recycle!
