A few months ago I started on a project gun...some background
Being a CA resident, evil black rifles are strictly verboten :banghead: Recently, "off list" lowers have been made legal and available so I bought one to build up an AR. Now, because of a few other circumstances, I haven't completed the build which has got me wondering...
What is the longest you've gone from beginning to end on a gun project? :scrutiny: :D

It took me about a year....

to restore a Remington 03A3........I bought the barreled receiver, with bolt and triggerguard, at a flea market. Took about 4 months to wear the guy down to a price I thought was about right. Then it took me the rest of the year to round up the parts to restore the rifle. The metal was in like new condition and the rifle ended up a great shooter. All of the parts are correct except the mag follower. It is a milled part instead of the stamped one. Got it cheap.....All of my other projects last as long as it takes to remove the cosmoline.......chris3

My AR15 lower receiver build took me 2 months to complete. My FAL build took me about 6 months (much of which was waiting on receiver availability) to complete.

If this is your first post......

how come it says "4 posts" under your name?...chris3

That Carbine stock that I need to refinish has been sitting in a corner for close to two years now.

My projects last for about one to two weeks, once I get my tail in gear.

What is making things worse is that when ever I come across something new or remotely cool, I try to imagine it on my project gun :banghead: I seriously just need to break down & finish already

I have a L.C. Smith SxS double barrel shotgun made in 1913 with steel barrels. The stock was ruined by too much oiling, the grip came apart as it was saturated with oil over 90 yrs. I spent 100 hours fitting and finishing the stock. I had to replace and repair some of the internals. It has the exposed hammers and shoots like a dream.
