How many Utahns here on THR?

George, I won't play. While I agree that most are wannabes, I've already been shot and knifed, and had a gun pulled on me one other time, two incidents in Salt Lake valley, the other in Utah valley.

My luck I would pick the only bad one in a 50 mile radius to tag.:scrutiny:

That and you've had a lot more training than me, but I'm working on that little problem.:D

Ben Sheppard,

Yep I survived West valley City. It was not bad back in the 80's. Keep in mind we had Morton Thicole (sp?) blowing up rocket fuel and boster's out against the Oakers range, and the City had fishing in the streets.... If I remember correcctly, 100 south and 2100 south where turned into snow run off rivers. This was a result of an overly high snow fall, quick thaw, and all the storm drains pugged with crap. The great Salt Lake had closed I-80 and the railroad down. Wiped out the beach resort/amusment park, and all but drowned the marina. I believe that they had more other things going on, than beating each other up. I have been in far worse places. One woulb be Gary Indiana, north side. The other is Oakland Ca. You would not want to be in either place after 1:00-2:00 pm, all the BG's are just finially out moving around.

Compared to Ill, I do miss going out in my front yard looking left and right and seeing the mountains.

That was the spring of '84. It wrecked a lot of roads up in areas I go play in, in fact it ruined some roads bad enough up in the mountains they got shut dowm permenently.

:D Geez, you guys... talking about the flooding in '83 and '84... I was BORN in '83, for crap sake. :uhoh: In West Valley, no less. :D My parents grew up in Granger -- my grandparents still live there.

Of course, it was a little different then. The house we lived in, in West Valley, was a couple houses down from a few drive-by shootings in the last few years.

It basically depends where you go... it's not hard to look around and tell if you're in the "good" or "bad" parts of town. Regardless, violence can happen anywhere -- we should all remember that wherever we may live.

Thefumegator...

Your correct, "violence can happen anywhere". That's why we need a 50 state carry law...

By the way lived a few miles from Gus Paulus Chevy, not too few from the Drive in Movie place, and a street away from a little backyard 9 hole par 3 course. Approx 4000 south and 4900 west. Drove by that place about 10 years ago, would not want to live at that house again. You can't go back....
