To be able to shoot without making someone angry? I want to buy land out of city limits, so that I can enjoy things like shooting more frequently. I know it would be best to find a place with as much distance from anyone else as possible but I don't know how easily that can be done and still have a reasonable commute to work.
Mostly I shoot clays with a 12 gauge and plink with a .22 but I will probably end up with some rifles and handguns. I would love to have a couple friends come and blast clays for a few hours whenever I could afford shells. Owning 20+ acres with neighboring properties being of similar size or larger do you think someone would become angry at my gunfire? Does it really matter if they don't like it?
I'm trying to decide how the "I was here first" mentality would take play. I know I would tell someone where to shove it if they moved near to me and then complained about my noisy hobbies.
What is everyone's take?
