How much to have 1911 grip Bobtailed?

I am in southern Texas, have posted this question under Gunsmithing with few hits (less people)

What is a good cost estimate to have a commander sized 1911 (Colt or S&W) bobtailed? Second part, to have new Ed Brown beavertail memory grip safety installed as well?

In the coming months I am buying a pistol I plan to carry and shoot a lot and have forever. After lots of looking, a COlt LW Commander or the S&W Commander sized model seem to be what I want. First upgrade is night sights. Then the above mentioned Bobtailing.

Could just start with a Dan Wesson. The work is already done......

I think I read somewhere Ed Brown does the bobtail on other pistols for $150.

You might have a problem getting an alloy frame bobtailed after the fact though.

I was going to just get a DW CBOB, but I want a lightweight frame. Cuts near 10 ounces off the pistol.
