How should my rifle be zeroed for an Appleseed class?

Any links or suggestions for me to get zeroed in before class?

I usually have an EOTech with a flip up rear site on my 16" RRA Midlength Carbine.

For the class I purchased an A2 carry handle and put my upper on a spare lower with an A2 stock.

The operators manual has different settings for M16's and M4's. Bottomed out at 6/3 for M4's, up two clicks for M16A4's and up one click for M16A3's.

With the sight radius of a mid length in the middle of the two lengths I'm not sure where I should set my rear site for sighting in.

I then zero at 25 meters for a 300 meter zero. This is what we will use during class, correct?

Yup. Zero at 25 yards. Might as well see if, using the prone position, if you can keep 3 shots within a 1 inch square.

All shooting at Bloomington was done at 25.

I zero my M4gery for 50 yards which puts it within 2" at all ranges and on again at 200. Did so after reviewing the "modified battle zero" material on the MD site mentioned above. Don't have the chart handy but I think that put it 5" low at 300 which is acceptable to me.

One of the nice things about the Appleseed shoots, is if you get your sights close, they will help you get them exact.

300 and 25 yard zeros for the A2 should be close enough. Really, if you get point of aim to equal point of impact (or the other way around) at 25 yards, you will only have very small adjustments from there for the shoot.

I highly recommend that you have an USGI web sling for your rifle, not the black standard sling that came with it. The web sling is much more user friendly. Also, spend some time getting into sitting and prone positions, as you will spend some time in those, and getting the body used to them will be nice for the shoot.
