How to Carry a Boot Knife?

I know this sounds weird...I have a Benchmade 10510 Gamer...A straight Blade in a thin sheath. I was wnating it to be a boot knife but I am not sure how to carry it as a boot knife. I am open to some suggestions. The sheath has holes around the outer edge and there is a plastic clip on one side of the sheath....My digital camera is dead or I would post a pick of the knife...it is on Benchmade's website. Anyway, any suggestions would be great for acarrying it on my boot, otherwise I will end up using the clip on the Strap of my Bullet Proof Vest.

In Boot mode: If you're right handed, stick it inside the outer (right) side of your right boot, clipped/fixed whatever to it. However, if your pant leg is down over it, it's a pain to get out quick.

I'd go with the vest option.

You can stitch the sheath to an article of clothing or load bearing gear through the holes. They're there for the same reason as the little cloth tabs on the original S-F dagger's sheath.

What he said. You can also run a couple dog tag chains through them for strapping them to your chest/neck whatever, or use 550 cord for strapping the knife to something like a pack.

Boots don't need knives. Carrying a knife in a boot is Hollywood and TV. It'd be too far away from your hand if you need it in a hurry and chances are it wouldn't be there.

For 99.5% of the time, I couldn't agree with Sunray more. They are too slow to access.

Now, for the other .5% of the time. They do make sense if you are:

A) Wearing boots with your pants legs tucked into them.

B) Sitting on your rear most of the time.

If you meet both of those two requirments, then boot carry makes sense for you. If not, find a better spot for hiding your knife.

IIRC the style (100 years ago or so) was pants tucked into the boots. Then a boot knife made some sense. I can envision falling on my butt trying to crouch down, lifting my pants cuff & pulling a boot knife.

If your R/handed carry in R /side of L/boot can reach with either hand. Boot carry is slow to draw from unless sitting.
