can't be too safe for the life of 1 child

Dont preach to me about responsible gun ownership.
They are not dangerous, Even if they were good and thown in the fire they would only pop. I did not say to do that. The local land fill will have not adverse affects and there is not going to be any 3 alarm emergency call. Maybe some body needs to have disposed of ammo before and has some practical knowledge. A battery is more dangerous. Sock them in water if it makes you feel better.

Why be in such a hurry to get rid of them? Just scatter them out on flat surface or inside a box lid so they can dry out. You could try them out after a couple of weeks and maybe the'll be fine. Even if it takes a couple of months for them to completely dry out and they still won't work, what has it cost you?

With the price of ammo (yes, even .22 LR isn't "cheap" anymore), I'd give them a second chance.

I would be more concerned about the 10 yr old kids messing around out at the dump finding them. Hmmmm, what can we do with live ammo...I know... (involving a rock, and a hammer. Or taking them home to put in dad's gun...or the microwave...)

Throwing them away just is just a lazy way to not take care of your responsibility.
