I'm a happy user of an IWB Kydex Holster. I wear my IWB holster against my skin (yes, tucked into my boxers too). While this does create less movement and more friction, I would like to make the skin side of my kydex holster a little less slick so it stays in place even better. I do want increased friction, but nothing painful like skate board tape. Comfort is a factor too! A rubberized tape with the texture of Talon Grips might be near ideal. I've also wondered if using a coarse sandpaper might rough up the Kydex just enough for increased friction. Any recommendations or ideas?

Comp-Tac specifically sells moleskin to apply to the back of their IWB holsters. https://www.comp-tac.com/moleskin

You can also buy it at the local drug or grocery stores.

Interesting thought, thank you JTQ. However, I'm wondering if this might reduce friction instead of increase friction as it describes the product as "...reduces any texture or friction and creates an even more comfortable carry solution". I'm wanting to increase the friction while still maintaining some comfort. But I'll stop by the drug store to see what moleskin is like.

Moleskin ... It'll wear and need replaced, but it's gonna be comfortable

I use a silicon sealant RTV on my kydex pocket holster to make it tacky so it stays in the pocket when i draw my pistol. I think RTV would be a solution for your holster.

Have you ever worn something with more friction against your bare skin before, especially when it gets damp?

One of the big pluses I always saw to kydex was that if it got against your bare skin (I always wear a tee between me and the holster), it would slide without irritation, where something like leather, especially when damp, would quickly rub me raw.

Just thinking about what you're suggesting just makes me cringe.

What holster are you using that its moving around a lot?

I'm not asking if you think this is a good idea. I'm asking if you know of a good material that slightly increases friction over bare Kydex while maintaining comfort.

Thank you, I'll check out this option too!

I've been using moleskin for years, I just buy a roll of it and replace it every 3-6 months- as you can see it's about ready. It does reduce slipping and is comfortable.

It's not perfect but nothing ever is, it does migrate and peel sometimes but other times it'll stay put until it's icky and I peel it off. Easy.
