HR 45 was reintroduced on 1-6-09
H.R.45
Title: To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep Rush, Bobby L. [IL-1] (introduced 1/6/2009) Cosponsors (None)
Latest Major Action: 1/6/2009 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary

please contact your congressman, and senator and express your opinion.

it may be an old bill, but it is not dead, we must continue to protect our rights because others will not stop trying to take them.

The Democrats are possibly about to gain control of the senate (a fillibuster proof 60):

With this possibility in mind, and them already controling the other checks and balances, we need to reach out to moderate Democrats and soft Republicans and explain to them why this bill is not a good choice.

What else can we do to perhaps get moderate or blue dog Democrats to avoid voting for this bill?

And as before, no co-sponsors.

Won't get out of committee. Now, that's not to say we shouldn't keep the pressure on but this particular piece of garbage here is so extreme it's laughable.

Bobby Rush tosses these out all the time, as long as his contribution checks from Brady clear the bank :)
