In Pitkin County he was the poster child for cronyism with the Sheriff. He was given a permit before we had shall issue, pulled his gun often at the local bar in Woody Creek. I think he shot his assistant or seceratary though not critically. And up to the time he wacked his ass the Sheriff put up with it. He even ran for Sheriff at one time. Yea he was one of a kind, thank god.

I can't really disagree with this...I don't even think HE would disagree with it...but for some reason this condition seems to affect a lot of great writers. There seems to be something about writing that induces self-destructive behavior, or the other way around.
