For those of you out hunting this season: does the new Marlin XLR rifle seem to be popular?
The buzz on the hunting-oriented websites indicates that the XLR has really taken off. Apparently, it's primarily a vehicle to get the max use out of the new LeverEvolution ammo.
Not being content w/ making the venerable levergun a 200yd piece, Marlin is now introducing (w/ Hornady) the .308 Marlin cartridge, which promises 6" of drop out of the XLR.

Are we going to start seeing a trend of younger hunters turning to stainless-steel spitzer-nosed-firing leverguns?
I'm ahead of the powercurve already: just bought a 1961 20" Marlin 336, and have some LeverEvolution on the way to compare to the 150gr flat-noses I bought.
