I am willing to believe the ad copy that this thing makes a shotgun louder. I've heard a BP blunderbuss fired and it is LOUD.
I don't believe it will spread the shot pattern too much wider. That I would have to see.
The blunderbuss of the 1600's was designed with a wide mouth for easier reloading from a moving stagecoach. The bell mouth didn't spread the shot out any faster.
There might be one value in using this as a home defense gun. The intimidation factor would be off the scale. Who's going to argue with a 3" muzzle pointed at you?
Sorry Lee. The first time I saw it was yesterday on a different gun forum site (1919a4 beltfed fun.com) and thought it would be fun to share a laugh. If you find it offenseive that there are too many threads about this maybe I could contact the moderator and have him delete this thread. I am new to this forum and sure don't want to cause anyone any undo frustation. Just let me know
The muzzle on a blunder buss was actually a built-in funnel for quick and easy reloading on horseback, on a coach while moving, on the rolling deck of a ship.
