I have wanted to add a 4" .357 to the family for quite a while. I was out at the Valley Forge Gun Show this weekend, saw a couple of 686s in decent shape, one like new with lock and one a bit dinged up but no lock. They wanted over $ 550.00 for them
I wound up buying this private sale via my gun club for $352 total.
Looks real clean, cylinder is nice and tight side to side and front to back. Top strap and forcing cone are like new. The side plate and screws are pristine. The only part that seems to have any wear at all is the rear sight white outline is worn off (otherwise the sight blade is perfect).
I'd be surprised if this had more than 100 rounds of .38 spl. wad cutter through it.
