My stepdad just got his chrony back, small misshap with a bullet:D , and now I know what my target loads are doing.
45ACP
230gr rainier rn,WLP,mixed brass, 1.250 oal, .470 Lee factory crimp
3.9gr Clays= 730fps +- 15fps

9mm
115gr winchester fmj,WSP,mixed brass, 1.155 oal, LFC
3.6gr Clays= 1050 +- 5fps
6.0gr HS6= 1050 +- 25fps
I was happy with my results, especially with the clays in the 9mm. I assumed that because the clays shot much softer than the HS6, that the fps would be way down, wasnt expecting it to be the same:)

The difference in felt recoil between powders can be pretty dramatic.

3.8-4.0 Clays with a 230 is a staple of the action shooting crowd in 45, hard to find a softer shooting and more consistent load.

I REALLY like Clays in 45 and for target loads in 9mm.

Economical, too

I don't know the relative prices of HS6 and Clays, but it is clear that in the 9mm loads, only 2/3 as much powder yields the same velocity.

Best,
Johnny
