I need to read this site and do a few searches, but I think i found what i want. Earlier i posted about a small revolver for carry along protection and I see several votes for the SW 642 and other versions of their snub. Having gone to the gun store this morning, I found most of them, including the Taurus Light Titanium to be about 15 oz. They are small and compact, though still slightly bigger than I would prefer. Then, I found the Kel Tec in a 380 caliber. I can't believe how small this gun is. Slips in and out of my pocket w/o even knowing it is there. It even fits behind my wallet.

Like i said, i need to read to make sure you all don't think it is junk but the size and power is perfect for what i am looking for. I could get by with the SW and haven't entirely ruled it out, but this Kel Tec seems to be the ticket.

The price here is $329 whereas the Taurus titanium is $450.

If your only concern is size then I would to with the kel-tec. But I believe that .38 Spl has alot more power than .380 Auto. For me I think the size difference is worth being able to carry a more powerful round.

The Kel-Tec is a good gun with an excellent warranty. It does have less power than the .38 special and mine is carried mainly as a back up piece. I don't know how much experience you have with guns, the small .38 is much easier for someone fairly new to guns to operate. Light weight autos require a firm grip to avoid "limp wristing".

Central Florida. I have been reading and realize our local shops are very expensive. they also claim the gun is extremely difficult to get. I called four gun shops and the word is the same, can't get enough, if i could get 50, I'd take them. They said the wholesaler also has varying prices. MSRP is $300 so at $329, that's over msrp. One shop said they will sell from $275-300 depending on which wholesaler they buy from, but right now doesn't have any. He then directed me to a 32 cal Seacamp with a hot load to provide the equivalent to the 380.

P3AT Hard Chomed Model

I suggest the hard chromed model of the P3AT. The chromed model has a better reliability factor than the blued, and it does not rust. I have now put somewhere around 500 rounds through mine, an estimate, and have never had any failure of any kind. Accuracy is better than I can shoot it. Your statement that you, "...found the pistol that I want" was ironic. I've never found a pistol that I didn't want.
