I finally liberated (at a cost that I couldn't afford) the AR (or tech., the XM) 15. I am having a bit of trouble with the 7.62 upper. Even the colt mags don't work so well, the 25rd aftermarket is working well.
The upper for the 5.56mm is great. It's not Bushmaster but one from JTDistrubution. It has all the "evil" features on it like the bayonet lug and the flash suppressor (it's a real one, with cut holes, not a fake non cut one). The 5.56 is the full 20" and not the 16" but that is okay. It's set up with the A2 setup.
It has a "tactical light" on it I am going to make it the "evilist" rifle that I can. I am going to get the 7.62 upper threaded and since they had to remove the bayonet lug so I am going to have that replaced. And to top it all off, yes, I am, going to get a telescoping stock
I will have to say, I 'hate' this place ( ). Since I've been here you people (said with hands on hips) have caused me to go high end on my guns. Sure, I was perfectly happy with cheaper guns, my HK USP being the most expensive that I had.
Then I got a Kimber 1911 (When I could have had a cheap Rock Island).
Then I just had to get an AR-15 with two uppers.
The thing that is really scary is that one of you may talk me into something Glock .
Thanks again folks, for all the great advice.
