I ran my 870 with a Surefire fore end, as did several others in my class.

At least half the shooters in our course had a gun with a light. We did not do the night shoot though because it was full moon every night.....I could walk out into my yard and see people 200 yards away with almost no other light....not alot of point to it unfortunately.
