Went in to town to see that new version of Walking Tall, w/ the Rock. Very good picture and it has morals!!

Anyhow, I was a bit early so I ran across the street to the local hunter's hq for a looksee.

They had a S&W hammerless, aluminum-framed snubbie, NIB, for $330. I was going to buy it when I saw that price tag, but I was bothered by the 'agreement' and the butt-ugly lock on the sideplate.

Long story short, I made it out without spending a penny. I wanted a backup gun. I wanted something small and relatively easy to slip in the pocket, but I stuck by my guns.

Still looking.....

UH!? Walkong Tall? The Rock? Buford Pusser was a white redneck. What part does Rock play? I had not heard about this. The "agreement" is dead, null and void. S&W is under new albeit criminal management.:neener:

Yeah, Buford is probably spinning in his grave... but his story is being kept alive.

Is this a great country or what? A black man playing the role of a white redneck sheriff... whodathunkit?

$330 isn't a bad price for a little S&W snubbie, zit and all.

Dwayne (the rock) Johnson is half and half...his dad (Rocky Johnson, a former wrestler as well) is african american and his mom is Somaon (sp?)...

$330 seemed like a good price, and I really did like the pistol. Just didn't like it well enough to shell out the cash for it. Maybe tomorrow.....

The Rock, playing Sherriff Chris Vaughan, is part Hawaiian. And I actually prefered this rendition to the original story. Yea, it might not be entirely accurate, but it did tell the tale in a clean manner with strong moral content (or, as strong as you can get in this day and age.) It's not easy to Walk Tall, regardless of the age you live in, and this guy made the choice and lived with the consequences. You've got to admire that.

Good movie, and well worth my time and money.

I love it. The irony is palpable. Almost as good as the black guys at the confederate history rallies. Or the concept of the writers of the bill of rights being (some of them) slaveowners.

Never underestimate the power of a great idea to overcome the frailty of human nature.

I have a little Smith J frame that I have been carrying allot lately. IT is so small you don't even notice it.

The agreement is not being enforced. Big difference between no enforced and dead.

I will bet the best steak dinner at a Waffle House of your choice that the first Democrat in the head office will guarantee a resurrection of the agreement.

It ain't dead. . . . . it is just laying there.

What do you mean by "criminal management"?
James Joseph Minder, chairman of handgun maker Smith & Wesson Holding Corp., resigned after a published report revealed he'd spent as much as 15 years in prison decades ago for armed robberies and a bank heist.
