So, I was debating between a S&W 21 Thunder Ranch in .44spl (I've long wanted a .44spl, and just like the idea of the 21TR and .45ACP 22TR) and a .45LC S&W 625 Mountain Gun (similar idea, lighter weight N-frame for easier carry, but with adjustable instead of fixed sights)

I ended up buying the Mountain Gun. I bid on Gun Broker and won, a pretty decent deal (brand new, $559 coming out to $599 including shipping, at a $25FFL transfer pawn shop I recently found I'll be $25-50 less than the cheapest I've seen them locally).

I've long wanted a .45LC. I've long wanted a big bore revolver in general. I did get one a couple years ago in .41mag but I still wanted one in a lower pressure caliber.

This gun will primarily be for home defense, but it may occasionally be carried when in a carry state. It will also be my camping gun in case a bear or something crosses my path (yeah, I know, very VERY unlikely, but it is an excuse to bring a nice gun along when camping).

I'm looking forward to receiving it (bought online so a week or two to get to the local FFL, then MD has a waiting period so it will be a while). In the meantime, I guess I need to start pricing .45LC reloading equipment (between this gun and the Winchester 94AE in .45LC I've had for a while, I'm thinking I'll be shooting a lot of .45LC soon).

Um.. I have two in 357, one in 10 mm/40 (soon to be two) and one in 41 magnum...

Nice guns.. you'll like it.. If you want to, you could probably get the cylinder cut for 45 acp and moons.. for convenience sake and all :)
