Congrats on the XDs, and congrats on the good marriage! Sounds like you both won out on that one.
I definitely married up, myself; my last purchase was a model 10 heavily customized by cylinder and slide, and she didn't even bat an eye (even though nobody should ever pay that much for a used model 10, heh!).
