I shot my Witness Elite Target today. Pic of pistol is at:
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=244168

It shot very well. My first 8 shots were at a bowling pin laying on the ground at about 30 yards and I hit it 7 out of 8. That will give you confidence in a gun.

I shot some Zero 165 Gr. JHP's which it liked a lot. It shot the 180 Gr. Berry's OK and the 155 Gr. Raniers OK, but it really liked the Zero JHP's.

I shot the Zero's with N340, AA#5 and Universal Clays. I got the same results with the Witness as I had gotten with my XD SC. The Universal shot the best with the best ES & SD.

XD SC - Zero 165 Gr. JHP 80 Degrees
In my XD I got the least recoil with 6.1 Grs. Universal at an AVG. 1036 FPS, the most recoil with 7.0 Grs. N340 at an AVG. 1032 FPS, and recoil in between those with 8.5 Grs. AA # 5 at an AVG. 1062 FPS.

Universal ES 23
Universal SD 8

AA # 5 ES 60
AA # 5 SD 22

N340 ES 20
N340 SD 7

Witness - Zero 165 Gr. JHP 70 Degrees
In my Witness I did not pay any attention to recoil, but with Universal I got an AVG. 1132 FPS, with AA # 5 I got an AVG. 1162 FPS, and with N340 I got an AVG. 1141 FPS

Universal ES 13
Universal SD 5

AA # 5 ES 81
AA # 5 SD 27

N340 ES 28
N340 SD 11

The 155 Raniers and 6.6 Grs. of Universal Clays gave an AVG. 1177 FPS with an ES of 61 and a SD of 17.

The 180 Gr. Berry's and 5.1 AA # 2 (need to bump to 5.2) gave an AVG. 954 FPS with an ES of 33 and a SD of 10.
Universal did not shoot well with this bullet in the XD.

Overall I really like the pistol. It has a very nice trigger for a stock gun. It seems very accurate and is fun to shoot. I wanted a full sized all stell .40 and this fills the bill quite nicely.

I attached two target pics. The first target is two 15 shot groups as fast as I can get the sight down and pull the trigger. Group one uptop and group two below.
The second target is two 5 shot groups. The first group is on the bottom. I was shooting with the sights dead center of the target. It was black sights against a black target which is tough with these old eyes as the sights are a blur anyway. The second group is where I aimed at the white at the top of the target where I could really see the black sights against the white background. It is also 5 shots. ( Oh Yea - 7 Yards)

I need to bring some plain old white paper targets to shoot with this pistol or white out the sights or something. There are optional interchangable front sights available from EAA for the pistol and I may check those out.

I wonder if it shot the Zero's so much better than the Raniers and Berry's because they are Jktd vs Pltd as this barrel has Polygonal rifling. I do not know. Our Glock shooting buddies may be able to help there. I would like to hear their experiences with plated bullets vs jacketed in their Glocks.

Either way. It shot the 165 Gr. Zero's so well I could be happy if it would not shoot plated bullets. I would like to try some 180 Gr. FMTC Zero bullets in it with Universal Clays as well as a healthy dose of Longshot.

All loads are safe in my guns with my load technique Reduce 10% to start.

think its there this time. Yep there it is . I had to change the size.

Even though you did not hit the center of the target on the second one your 2 groups show alot of promise. I am sure that you next trip you will do much better and adjust accordingly. Black on black is a little tough to shoot. That is why I print out my targets white. Have fun with it. :D :D I am going to the range tomorrow to shoot my Springfield that I just bought. :D :D

Yep. All groups were low today. I did not adjust the sights at all. I will next time out. With WHITE targets! :)
