I believe that I have decided to get out of .380acp all together. It's a fine round, but really unnecessary for my collection (of which consist mostly of 9mm and .223). That means I will be taking a few boxes of FMJ rounds with me to a gunshow this weekend. . . .not to make a huge profit, but I feel that I should be able to sell it all. It is VERY hard to find in my area. I have two 100 count WWB, four 50 count Prvi Partizan, and three 50 count Magtech. Now, having said that, I DO have [and plan on keeping, due to it's collectors status] a F.I. Industries "Pre Colt Pony" made by Garcia that I plan on keeping. I rarely shoot it, but because I'm keeping it, I will keep my 50 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense. I MAY keep a few boxes of the FMJ, in the event I DO want to keep it, but only one brand.

So, considering the FMJs that I have, which ones would be cleaner? The WWB, Prvi Partizan, or the Magtech? Thanks.

The ammo shortage is what is bringing me to possibly sell off my PPK...I like the rd and the pistol sizes in a .380; but if I can't go to the range and fire regularly; I just don't see the point...

There truly is a shortage of the round. I know that there are many who would love to get their hands on some.

What would be a fair asking price, . . . . considering the "supply and demand model", but not wanting to screw people over?

1. 100 count WWB
2. 50 count Prvi Partizan
3. 50 count Magtech, (though I may keep it, since it could be cleaner than the other two brands)

I KNOW that there are many who would love to get a hold of my Critical Defense, but those are staying with me. :neener:

I've never seen 100 count WWB for $25, . . . even when it WASN'T in short supply.

When you guys get rid of your 380 firearms, please keep me in mind. They're worthless without the ammo, but I'll be happy to take them off your hands for some small amount for each of them out of the goodness of my heart:evil:

Seriously, someday the ammo shortage will end (I'm 99% sure), so current difficulty obtaining ammo is NOT the reason to get rid of the 380's; unless you just don't want a 380 weapon around anymore even if you had unlimited ammo.

My thing is less about "ammo availability" and more about reducing my number of calibers.

As little as 2 years ago, I was buying it for $16.97 at wally world. .45 ACP was $19.96/100, and 9mm was $10.96. Of course, I also remember buying Federal American Eagle .223 for $199/case at Sportmans warehouse back in 2006.

Wow. . . . . . . .. THOSE were the days. :(

Still, considering the "supply and demand model", I could get more for them. The last I saw at Wal-Mart (several months ago) was ~$33 for the 100 WWB .380acp

I still can't understand why you guys don't just reload it. Seriously, my Lee Hand Press Kit was $25 and a set of dies was about $30. A pound of powder for $25 would probably last 2000 rounds of .380, and primers are $5 per 100. So you are looking at less than $100 total and then all you need is brass. I can load a couple hundred rounds in a night sitting on my couch watching TV. I did have to break down and buy a few boxes of factory ammo to get more brass, it was very painful at $25/50 rd box, but now I have enough to reload for at least a year.

A few months ago, I bought 250 rd cases of mag tec 380 for $58. Just today, I bought 1000 rounds of Blazer 115 gr FMJ 9mm for $200. Ammo around here is getting cheaper; and, it is plentiful.

Cabela's has had .380 ammo available lately anywhere from around $19.00 to $22.00 for 50 round count FMJ. That should get you in the ballpark for what it will sell for. Last year I saw a 100 round box of the Winchester .380 FMJ go for $129.00 on Gun Broker! I think we have had a price drop ..................hopefully anyway from that amount.

I'm finding and buying .380 all over the place lately....along with many other types of ammo. As far as I can tell, the ammo shortage is almost over. Different locations will vary a bit though of course.

I cannot wait for the days in a few years when all these 380s are going to hit the used market.....

Natchez has .380 PMC bronze today for $16.99/50. (or did.)

I would pick the Privi over the WWB, and the WWB over the Magtek.

Hey, are you saying that out of personal experience?

I may not be getting out of 380acp after all, . . . what with the coming of S&W's Bodyguard line. It's making me interested, . . . depending upon the price, of course.

It's nice to get boxer primed brass cased ammo, even if you don't reload you probably will someday, or you know someone who does or will. Call J&G Sales 928-445-9650 and ask about S&B .380, recent ad says $14.95 for 50 and to call for qt'y discount. Ask if it's reloadable. Also ask about Aguila, it's boxer brass.

Okay, . . . . I'm back to eventually getting out of .380acp now. I think I will sell some, but not all of it, only because I will be keeping the F.I. ......

Updated: I say that, . . . but I'm going to a gunshow, this weekend, and if I find decently priced rounds, I'll probably buy them. LOL
