A few days ago I went to go put an XD45 ACP Service on layway, and my plan was to spend part of my tax refund to bring it home. I soon came across some extra cash to get it out and bring it home. I brought her home on Thursday, and I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish on this gun is far better than I expected. I did also handle a Glock 30 to get a feel for the Glock vs. XD war. Yeah you can guess which one got my vote. I haven't got to shoot it yet, because its still very cold outside. The Croatians did a really good job at designing the prototype known as the HS2000, and Springfield took it over the top with the .45 ACP. Here is a pic of my new piece fresh out of the case!

Congrats, you will love it, and yea, I believe it is eating into Glocks market share.

I picked up a compact XD-45 last week and was very impressed with the accuracy. Almost as tight groups as my Kimber Pro Carry. I prefer the Glock trigger reset and it took a bit of getting used to the XD trigger but overall I'm satisfied. Another 500 or so rounds and it will take over as my primary CCW. Only mod I'm planning is to add night sights.

I hear only good things about the XD45 but it will take a lot to persuade me that the Glock 30, which I use as my primary HD sidearm, is outgunned. Three thousand rounds without a bobble and very accurate. That said it's good to have choices out there.

Excellent choice! I really like my XD45. It's great pistol, still not a 1911. :p Boring gun though, no jambs, no FTF, no FTE, hits where you point, :D just darn reliable in my hands. Enjoy. You can use the supplied holster for trap practice 'cause that's about all it's good for. I use a CTAC from http://www.comp-tac.com or a Crossbreed adjustable from http://www.crossbreedholsters.com

Congrat's On Your Purchase

You will find that all Springfield XD's are a great attraction; as the Crotians
did their homework before manufacturing a handgun. I LUV my 4" service
model XD- .45 ACP. As a matter of fact, its the only large caliber, polymer
frame pistol that I own~!;) :uhoh:

I will echo AlaDan's comments. I bought one slightly used and have put 600 rds through. All hardball so far, but I'm really impressed with the ergonomics and 100% (for me) reliability.

I think you'll enjoy it!
