Basically the only way you can get a Ruger bobbed hammer is to have it installed by Ruger. You might find a used one but they are not easy to find.
I read somewhere that the springs on the bobbed versions are significantly stronger since there's less mass on the hammer. The hammer needs greater velocity to reliably ignite the primer.
Then again, maybe I was just having a bad night.

Had my SP-101 apart today swapping springs out. I too wish I could find a bobbed replacement hammer. No way I'm paying to ship the gun back to Ruger to have them replace (and keep) the spurred hammer. I want one of each I can swap back and forth as the spirit moves. I tried Numrich, but they only have the spurred hammer assembly.
