Hi,

Well I think it will finally happen, I think I will be getting a polymer pistol in the relative near future. The weight of full steel guns gets to me after a while for carry and well there isn't much more to say then that.

What I am looking for is a polymer pistol, with a DAO trigger and steel slide rails on the frame. I have absolutely no love for striker fired designs and am not interested in them unless maybe they have a thumb safety on them. The only Semi Auto that I know of off the top of my head that will fit the bill is the SIG P250, but surely there must be more out there?

Also I do have preference for the .45acp but if a outstanding platform shows up I would settle for a .40 S&W.

I've held a USP before, and I have to say it was one of the most foreign feeling handguns I've ever picked up. I mean this thing just felt like it should be no where near my hands.

Anything that is 1911ish fits my hands like a well worn glove.

I don't care what anybody says about them, but my Taurus PT Pro series guns have been flawless, and they have a SA/DA trigger that's pretty cool. Not exactly DAO,but really close. If you can find a second generation model, those are true DAO guns.Striker fired,though...

The way to tell 2nd from 3rd generation is that 2nd generation pistols will have "Millenium Pro" on the left side of the slide,3rd generation guns have the word "Pro" on the right side of the slide...If it doesn't have the word "Pro" somewhere on the slide,it's a 1st generation, and they had numerous problems,do not buy it...
