Here it is, my version of our points championship we did last year and the text that I posted on our web site. We had a decent response to it but we didn't do it this year. As no standard cof is required this is something that could be done between clubs by e-mail. Post any questions.
IDPA Points Championship
This is something else we've come up with to add a little fun to the matches, this will be voluntary and will not affect the awards at our regular matches. If this is successful and everyone enjoys it we will look at expanding this to include other clubs in our area if they are interested. The details are outlined below but if you have any questions please e-mail me and I'll get you an answer. We will explain this program at our January match and begin accepting entries at that time, the actual points program will begin with the January match and we'll add the points standings to the match results on the web site each month.
1) You must be IDPA classified in the division you wish to enter to participate
in this points race.
2) The entry fee will be $15.00 per gun for the year with all fees going
toward the purchase of a gift certificate from The Second Amendment Firearms Emporium. This is a one time entry fee, not every time you shoot.
3) You may enter up to two guns in separate divisions, there is no discount for the second gun.
4) At the end of the year the persons in 1st place in the points race in each class and division will have their names put in a drawing for the gift certificate, possibly 20 people.
5) Points will be awarded to 5 places in the following manner: 1st place - 5 points, 2nd place - 4 points, 3rd place - 3 points, 4th place - 2 points, 5th place - 1 point.
6) 1 bonus point for each match you participate in regardless of what place you finish.
7) 5 bonus points for moving up a class, this will only apply one time.
8) If you compete in a division in which you have not entered you will not earn any points for that match.
9) If you move up in your classification you will take your points with you.
