If you had $2k to spend on an SBR what would it be?

HK USC converted to HK UMP plus can of course.

Conversion is done minus short barrel. Can is probably next though as i can use it with pistols as well and current UMP barrel. Short barrel will be after that though.

Auto-Ordnance makes civilian legal rifle versions of the Thompson, semi-auto only with 16.5 inch barrels. They also make short barrel rifle SBR versions with the 10.5 inch barrel of the classic select-fire submachinegun version.

Have to say it would be neat to have a tommy gun.

Though an Uzi or better yet a semi auto Bizon would be pretty awesome.

+1 for the Kriss.

I'm not sure what the heck I'd do with it, but it looks like something that fell off a passing spaceship.

And it would probably seriously annoy most of the anti-gun crowd, due to its "evil" appearance, which is another plus.

I can't have an SBR Tommy gun in my state.

Funny, with enough paperwork, I can legally own a full auto,
but to my knowledge no amount of paperwork will allow an SBR here.

So someday I may be forced to buy the 16" one.

Anybody who watched Vic Morrow in "Combat" as a kid wants a Thompson.

I went with a SBR FN S90

$1300 for the rifle
$200 for the stamp
$150 for the barrel to be cut down

With Gem-Tec can

Sorry for the crappy picture on the second one. Dog thought my digital camera was a chew toy. Had to use the cell phone for that one.

Am I the only one who would get a less expensive rifle and stock up on mags and ammo?

Me $2000 would net a Kel-Tec SU-16, 10 mags or so and dump the rest into ammo.

That would suit my needs just fine.

I would buy a M1A match grade along with a long range scope, gear and start to compete again.

I went with a Tromix S17...the first time around.

If I was doing another SBS, I'd get a Krinkov...I dig the 5.45x39 rifles.

With everyone so horny for 5.45 guns, one could build a 7.62 Sucha for less than 1K. the other 1K would buy alot of 7.62x39...
