If you had the choice

You could probably pick up a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 used for around the same price at a local shop.

But if it's just a choice between the two, I'd go with the Maverick. I've only heard a little about the Daly, but what I have heard would discourage me from buying one.

I'm leaning towards the Maverick anyway, but I figured for comparisons sake I'd ask. I'm going to my local shop some time this week, I'm sure they'll have a few of each there.

The Maverick is made by Mossberg and is essentially the same as a Mossberg 500. I don't know much about the Daly. I think I would pick the Maverick because it's a known quantity and because parts will be available for it for MANY years to come.

Plus all the 500 stuff will swap onto it.

I really would rather do a single shot, but I suck at accuracy.....so

For nearly the same price I got a Remington 870 Express for home Defense. I am looking at a Benelli & Beretta for shooting clay's

I have that maverick and it has been awesome. No problems and no complaints. I love it!

The maverick is made by Mossberg. I had one for a while and had no problems with it. A friend of mine gave it to me, (read I did not pay for it) as I would have followed the advise I will now give you.
You can get a Mossberg or a Remmington 870 for about the same price, and both have a long track record for reliability and availability of parts and after market supplies. I would go with one of those. I lean toward 870's jsut because I am familiar with them (No slam on Mossberg intended - they are also fine guns)

charles daly has had a bad wrap for a long time on just about everything. I dont know why but his stuff just brakes alot. Lately he has been getting better reviews but i do not think he is worth the trouble.
