This was just posted on Facebook by Alexander Roubian who is the President of NJ2AS: NJ 2nd Amendment Society.

"I just got a call from a person who went to the range with his uncle, dropped him off at home, got pulled over while going home, cop asked where he was coming from, he was honest and told the police officer that he went to the range with his uncle and just dropped him off. He was immediately arrested and now facing 7-10 years in prison for dropping his uncle off instead of going directly to and from the range. This is NJ gun laws at work!"......A. Roubian.

IMO........this is Terrifying.

Why do the cops enforce those laws,,,

Why do the cops enforce those laws,,,
I mean they can't all be paranoid gun-haters.

Are they actually proud of themselves when they do thing like this?

New Jersey needs a tidal wave. :banghead::(

Could you give us a link?

I am familiar with New Jersey gun laws and everything you posted is theoretically 100% correct . But there are some questions that need answering.

Why did he get pulled over?

If he lives in NJ and knows NJ gun laws, why did he admit being at the range?

Why would he admit that he was at the range with his uncle?

Why would the cop be interested where he was?

Yes in New Jersey you can face years in prison for not going directly home after coming back from the range even if you have a unloaded handgun in your vehicle in your trunk. (And even if it is separated from the ammo in the trunk and locked in a box).

If all he had was a unloaded rifle in his trunk and his FID card, there would be no issue.

Why did he tell the cop that he had a handgun in his trunk?

But unless we know the details, the story is suspicious.

Must be more to the story.

NOPE that 's the way it goes down in N.J. Anyone who shoots in N.J. has to be fully aware of the laws and the results of not following them.

Any gun bust is a good bust and there is no mercy whatsoever.

And not taking the SHORTEST route.

I could not find anything on the net about the story. I googled " Alexander P. Roubian facebook" and came up with different stories and posts. But not this one.

Please give us a link so we can read the story and discuss it. I'm afraid that if there is nothing to discuss, the mods will close the thread.
