It looks like I'm going to be in court that day unless the defendant pleads out in time for me to make it to Springfield. Trail was originally a jury trial scheduled for the 5th, now it's a bench trial on the 14th. Maybe he'll plead out before then and I can make it there.

Being a former Illinois resident I feel for you guys. I still have many friends there with rather large collections. I am not going to drone on about how you all should give up and move to a free state, but I do have a suggestion.

If such a law passes such as HB2414 or some other extensive gun ban, what would happen if everyone just said NO. I am not turning them in, I am not giving them up and so on. I am not advocating armed violence against the oppressors but a civil action against such.

I think they are depending on the sheeple to just turn them in. The politcians will say turn them in or else. If enough people say "or else what?" Honestly what are they going to do?

I think everyone needs to have a plan in place for the worst situation. It has to start somewhere.

I'm going to try to make it over from Champaign that day. Even though I'll be leaving the state in the Fall, I have a sneaking suspicion that i'll be back here in the distant future.

Edit: Cool!! There's a bus! I thought you guys were just using 'the bus' as a figure of speech.

"They will make an example of someone.

They will send in a SWAT team and force compliance. Fear is a great motivator."

Agreed that would probably happen, but imagine the surprise when the people still did not comply.

If you wanted, you could refuse to comply with the law and still go peacefully when they arrest you. It would amount to civil disobedience. I honestly don't know what I'll do.
I don't own anything they consider an "assault weapon," so I'd really have to be looking for trouble--I'd have to go buy some. :)

Dad will sell his out of state if it comes to that, I'm sure.

The whole point here is to prevent this law from passing, which absolutely can be done if we're willing to do it.

The bus leaving from the Quincy area needs riders. Its important that we fill all of these buses. If you know someone in the Quincy area that might be interested in going to Lobby Day have them go to this link. Quincy bus info
