I was looking in the closet for something and found an Interarms box. Not thinking, picked it up and it was heavy like something was in there. I looked, and it was the .38 Rossi M68 I bought for my step Dad who passed away a while back. I'd completely forgotten I had it. I took it out to the range a while back to check some loads in it. It was very accurate with my Lee cast 148 grain wadcutter/Bullseye load, shot 2" at 25 yards off bags. It shot my semi wadcutter pretty well, too. That one uses a Lee 158SWC over 5.0grains Unique. It's a good heavy load, shoots a little left of POA, though.

I'd gotten this gun for a little over a hundred bucks back in '81 I guess, right after my grandpa died. He had my grandpa's S&W M10 which I wanted, bought him this Rossi for home protection and took the M10.

The M10 sits in my cabinet in its place of honor, very good shooting gun, very tight. It was made in the 50s, used very little, oldy, but goody, old S&W quality. The Rossi shoots well, has a 3" barrel that gives it a good sight radius. It's a five shot J frame sized gun. It is very handy to carry afield and I'd figured as accurate and easy to carry as it is, it'll make a SUPER field revolver. I have a little 4" Rossi M511 sportsman .22, also, but the .38 is neat, a little more punch, and it'll still take rabbits with a wadcutter, done it before with other .38s.

3 .38 specials (used to have four), two .357s. I'm a little heavy on this caliber I reckon. :D But, I've always liked the .38/.357s.

Heck, finding that .38 I'd forgotten about is almost like Christmas arrived a few days early. ROFLMAO! Damned old age and senility.

I'm even worse. I was rearranging the stuff in the safe and unzipped a case to find a well-worn but serviceable Win M97 that I have NO memory of ever seeing before, let alone buying. The case was one of a batch I bought all at once, so it's not someone else's gun...

I'm only 48...

ROFLMAO! I've found a C note like that before, too. Wish I could do that right now, but I turned these jeans inside out this morning, nothin' there.

Losing you mind? Well move over and make room for one more.

I recently found a Bushmaster M2 in the back of the safe behind some other rifles. I had converted it to an M4. Short barrel, collapsable stock, black, you get the picture.

Dang thing had been there for over two years without ever having a single round thru the new tube!!

I found a sling shot that I forgot I had when i was a kid. :neener: I know it's not the same, I wish I could find a gun that I had forgot about.

I bought some wooden rubber band guns for some special young people in my life. Gonna drive their parents nuts. I can't WAIT for Christmas :neener:

MC - finding a gun such as you have - is as good as - no better - than finding a "C" note in an old pair of pants :D

I have little doubt this find will bring much enjoyment - nay - grin factor ;)

Darn, I've only found $5 in a pocket once.

I found a 1911 awhile back, that I'd stashed in the 70's and forgotten about. I really do need to get a gun safe.

After I got broken into, I build a false wall in my bedroom. You can't even notice it's there, blends in. I guess it was the TV show "The Equalizer" that got me thinking about it and the burglery get me off my butt. The dresser slide in front and you'd never know. It holds all my long guns save some cheap "decoy" guns in the living room and a couple I have hidden elsewhere cause I ran out of room back there. I have a collection of handguns there and a collection in hidden elsewhere in a case. It's a little bit of a pain to get into it, but at least they're safe in there, safer than in a safe way I look at it. I've been busted into since and they got nothing, so I guess it's tested. Only thing, a fire proof safe would be nice. My system isn't fire proof.

Neither of us are working regular hours now, though the wife is looking for work. I set my own hours. I don't think the place is as easy to "case" now, cause I set my own hours at the shop and when I do ride over there, it's on one of my motorcycles which are locked in my shop out of sight. I really do hope some butt wipe tries it again sometime when I'm home. I hate thieves. I don't know if I'll shoot him, but if he's armed, I'd have to. I've been in the bail bond business before and I know won't much happen to the idiot in our "justice system".
