Help...
the disconnector and sear seem to be in the proper position but the forward post of the safety (not the one that goes through the rear hole and secures the grip safety) hits against the side of the sear. I've tried for an hour, took a break, reassembled some other pistols, came back to it and I still can't get it to fully seat. I've cocked, partially cocked, etc. the hammer, I've wiggled the safety halfway between down and up, tried to move the sear around with a small screwdriver, etc. Any tips? I've fully stripped my Colt 1911 Series 80 several times before, and I've had the para apart and got it back together again but I remember the thumb safety being a real bear for some reason.
BTW I haven't removed the hammer pin or hammer this time, just the mainspring housing, spring, and grip safety (and thumb safeties, obviously.) So the sear and disconnector should still be in the correct spot, right?
Any tips, besides "get rid of the para ord"?
