Wideners has IMI 147gr FMJBT .308 bullets on sale for $79/500. Regular price is $89. Same bullets that are loaded in NATO M80 rounds.
Does anybody have experience with these?

I have a big bag of these IMI FMJ's and they are worth what you pay for them. They are military bullets, fully capable to going down the barrel and busting rocks to perfect satisfaction. They are not in any sense of the word, accurate, or match grade.

These are ten shot groups at 100 yards, I was doing load development with IMR 3031 in my Ruger M77 target rifle. These IMI bullets at least hit the paper, but they did not group worth a flip.

This was shot same day, same rifle, same load except the bullets were 150 grain Hornady FMJ's. Now I am going to admit this is a rather exceptional group with the Hornady FMJ's, no other rifle of mine shoots them this well, but they shoot a lot better than I thought they would.

If all you are looking for is blasting ammunition, IMI FMJ bullets will do the trick.

Thanks for your input. If that's the best the IMI bullets will group I'll take a pass on them.
You reinforced my opinion of the Hornady 150gr FMJs. My range is only 100 yards and the Hornadys are all I've used up until now. I don't think there's a more cost effective bullet up to 100-200 yards.

Have to agree & sometimes they are so bad they are not worth buying.

Myself I pass them by. I would rather pay more & have ammo that shoots consistently to point of aim than have ammo on hand that is a crap shoot ....literally

To be fair, these are described in the listing as M80 bullets. Those are NOT match bullets and no one should consider them as such. I seem to recall M80 bullets are required to have a mean accuracy of 4 inches at 100 yards. I have loaded a lot of these for use in both my M14 and 1919A4, so accuracy is not a top priority. If I can get 4 inch groups at 100 yards out of my M14 (NOT a match M1A) then I'm very satisfied with the bullets. Certainly anything works out of a machine gun, and I usually load pulled bullets for that application. Accuracy through volume.
